The Single Biggest Bug In SharpCharts

So the biggest, most frustrating bug that Stockcharts has is, when using the Annotate tool in Sharpcharts, I have to click the tool at least twice, and sometimes three times, to get it to select the tool I need. Is this only happening for me? I verified that it happens with Chrome and Safari on a fully updated M4 Macbook Pro.

Basically I hit Annotate, click the tool selector for trendlines, click Horizontal line, try to draw a horizontal line, curse because it either did nothing or drew a trendline, then I select it again and it works the second time.

What's the best way to get Stockcharts to actually take action about this? I've sent bug reports before but not felt they were appreciated. Maybe send it to David Keller?

  • I use a Windows machine so this might not apply. You could be right that its the app, but maybe try these things, too. Kind of off the wall, but you never know -

If you're using a wireless mouse (sounds like you're probably not, but..) , try changing the batteries. I've found I have to start double-clicking and not long after, the cursor stops moving altogether. Also, is there anything nearby that might be interfering with the wireless signal if its a wireless mouse? Maybe change the socket for the plug-in side?

Another thing - try a different cursor style. It may be that you are not hitting the "active" region on the screen because the cursor appears to be over it, but isn't.
