Hhm I just fixed the extra brackets around the exchanges and still getting stocks with low volume. I'm also getting stocks with price below the 10sma even though the 4 week sma is above the 10 sma. Is there a another line I need that has price above both 4 and 10 sma and 4 is above 10 sma? All on weekly charts? Thanks in…

Classic SharpCharts processing is really messed up in my experience. Particularly when working with Chartlists. I have encountered so many issues doing what was fast and easy before the update. I've been reporting the problems and often get a response back thanking me for noticing the issue and bringing it their attention.…

thanks for the info. Look at ESIO 4 year weekly chart ,see the 4 tests of the 200MA and the clean break upward around may 2017.this is a setup I am trying to scan for. https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=ESIO&p=W&yr=4&mn=0&dy=0&id=p78888394806&a=573021391&listNum=350

Agree with lmkwin. You need to be more specific about what "change from high or low" means. The final high or low that gets saved to the scan database at the end of the day is unknown during the day. The high at 10 am may not be the high 2 pm, which may not be the high at 4 pm. The open is known at 9:30 (or there about)…

I'm trying to chart a continuous line with a 4% offset below a daily price line. any thoughts on how to do this? If i can figure how to do this, I wanted to do the same for a 5-10% offset above the same daily price line. KJ

Hi Folks...is there already a procedure for setting up a 4 window template (mo/wk/day/hr) and then scroll through it with the results of any scan so that the windows and indicators stay the same for each new stock in the scan? I have even forgotten how to set up the 4 window template in ACP.... :( Thank you kindly..

The defaults on KST are: 10,15,20,30,10,10,10,15,9 The 1st 4 numbers are the ROC numbers used in the calculation. 10,15,20,30 The next 4 numbers are the MA applied to the corresponding ROC numbers. 10,10,10,15 The last number is the SMA applied to the results. 9 The 1st 4 numbers are also weighted with the 1st number…

Well, it's more complicated than you might think. You have five different cases: 52 week high 4 days ago then 3 consecutive lower highs 52 week high 5 days ago then 4 52 week high 6 days ago then 5 etc. Each of those has to be coded separately. The first one would be: and [4 days ago high = 4 days ago max(251,high)] and…

the current EMA scan is in daily/weekly/monthly time frame, as the code needs yesterday's volume and close price, is it possible to do it in 4hrs or 30 mins time frame? Thanks!

Thanks markd, it's done for the daily close. Your guidance steered me thru. For the next criteria can please show me the way forward for the 4 hourly close. When I replace the daily close with 4 hours close there is an error. Regards

Hi guys, I'd like to create a 5 day breadth thrust alert using stockcharts if possible. The formula would look something like this: [[!ADVNYA + !ADVNYA 1 day ago + !ADVNYA 2 days ago + !ADVNYA 3 days ago + !ADVNYA 4 days ago] / [[!ADVNYA + !ADVNYA 1 day ago + !ADVNYA 2 days ago + !ADVNYA 3 days ago + !ADVNYA 4 days ago] +…

You would have to figure out all possible combinations of up and down days and group them will "or" statements. The trick with or statements is to watch your brackets. In this case, put double brackets around the five volume relationship statements - so they are treated as one statement; then another set of brackets around…

I think you could do something like this: [exchange is NASD] // etc. - or whatever universe you want // the last three monthly highs are less than the four months ago monthly high and [1 month ago monthly max(3, monthly high) < 4 months ago monthly high] // this month's high is greater than the four month ago monthly high…

Dear all, is it possible to assign a value to a variable and to use the variable in scans, such as a=4? I guess this is not supported by the scan functionn but perhaps you know a work around. Thanks and my best wishes, Robert

if you look at a chart of UNFI at the following dates, is that a wedge pattern that im looking for? UNFI between 3/26/2020 to 4/3/2020 and 5/1/2020 to 5/9/2020 How would i scan for that? I tried doing a scan of stocks between 0-10% above the 200 day moving average , but its just a nonsense scan. Thanks!

Simple scan for all stocks in the past 4 years that went below 1$ at some point in history, there is a quote "Our adjusted historical price data cannot be used to determine the actual buy or sell price for a stock at some point in the past." because of reverse splits and similar adjustments What scan can I use to scan…

4/2 means April 2, the date of the bar that looks like it should be a doji.

If I read this correctly, I think you can shorten up the code with the min( ) function. The min length parameter is one less than the number of days ago for the tested low. and [ [ //20 day low 4 days ago [ 4 days ago low = 1 day ago min(20, low)] and [ min(3, low) > 1 day ago min(20, low)] ] or [ // 20 day low 5 days ago…
