Problems scanning for SCTR

in Scanning
Smoothing SCTR seems mandatory, it’s too jittery without smoothing. When viewing charts I can apply a KAMA, and/or click weekly. But trying to scan for weekly SCTR fails with no results (though it passes a syntax test). Why is that? If if can be easily charted, shouldn’t it also be scannable?

No results is not necessarily a failure. It may be that there are no symbols that answer all the conditions of the scan.
On the other hand, it may be that the KAMA scan function is designed/programmed only to retrieve values from a stored data series (like high, low, close) and not to call another function to calculate the past and present values of a parameter that is an indicator (like SCTR, or MACD). You would have to confirm that with Support.
It might be that the charting version of KAMA works because the chart display functions have already calculated SCTR and make those values available to the charting version of KAMA, whereas the SCTR values may be unknown to the scan version.0
