Bollinger Band Opening
Hi all,
Thank you so much for your help previously, but I have another favor to ask... I'm currently back at university so I'm not able to help my grandfather (and I unfortunately don't have the time to look for the answers myself since I'm in health sciences).
He would just like to scan for the Bollinger Band Squeeze but specifically for the neck of the squeeze when the two bands start diverging (He calls it when the 'rose bud starts opening'). Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Em

I don't use Bollinger Bands, but here is a breakout scan suggested/explained here, about 2/3s down the page:
https://support.stockcharts.com/doku.php?id=scans:advanced_scan_syntax:consolidation_breakouts
and [today's BB Width(20,2) > yesterday's max(5, BB Width(20,2)) * 4]
You could play with the parameters to fit your requirements (more or fewer than 5 days in the max( ) function, a multiplier larger or smaller than 4).0
