float

Does anyone know of away to scan for stocks just using the float? ( stocks under 100 million)

  • I don't see a "float" option under Ticker properties, so I don't think you can do it.

However, if you go to finviz, click on Screener, then click on "ownership", then click on "float", it will order all the symbols by float. Then you can select additional options from "descriptive", "fundamental" and/or "technical" tabs to narrow the field. Then when you have a suitable number you can export to Excel (after you register for free) and upload the symbols (probably with some editing - I haven't done it) to Stockcharts.

Or, you could scan for market cap as a subsitute - say under a billion.
