Aroon
Gentlemen,
The below two scans is the closest I think I can figure out how to find only when the UP 25 crosses up and over the Down 25 as well as another scan when the Down 25 crosses up and over the Down 25. Most of the stocks per the below scans, shows that we have missed the bus. AAWW, BRKR, GIS show the current cross overs.
I was wondering if the below scan/s are written incorrectly.
//Scan 30AA
//Stocks in a New Uptrend (Aroon) UP up and over Down
[type=stock]
and [country is US]
and[Close > 6.0]
and [Daily SMA(50,Daily Volume) > 500000]
and [aroon osc > 50]
and [yesterday's aroon osc <= 50]
//Scan 30A
//Stocks in a New Uptrend (Aroon) Down up and over UP
[type=stock]
and [country is US]
and[Close > 6.0]
and [Daily SMA(50,Daily Volume) > 500000]
and [aroon osc < 50]
and [yesterday's aroon osc >= 50]

The other chart I like to use after the lists have been produced, is Freestockcharts.com with the Aroon Up25 Down 25 indicator. The Aroon Oscillator 25 editing the colours for Up to be yellow and Down to be red.

by bad, should read
when the UP 25 crosses up and over the Down 25 as well as another scan when the Down 25 crosses up and over the UP 25.0 -
I don't use aroon, but looking at the examples that come up with your first scan, I think you want aroon osc > 0, not >50. On aroon osc, crossing above 0 seems to correspond to UP crossing above DOWN on Aroon. I see 50 is the mid line for Aroon, but that doesn't seem to be related to crossovers.
Also, an alternative way to write this, if you like it, is aroon osc x 0 for cross above; then 0 x aroon osc for cross below.0 -
markd,
Thank you very much for a Quik response. Changed both scans using the alternate way and the scans are doing an excellent job at what they are suppose to do. Awesome.
Now, I can catch the bus right away without waiting and waiting for the next xover.
