Date range for sector analysis
When performing sector analysis as the first step in deciding where to invest, what is the recommended best practice for the number of days to use for the analysis?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if there is a recommended best practice. It might depend on the time frame you want to trade. But you could put the sector ETFs or indices in a list, then run a scan on the list to rank by ROC (rate of change) performance over a month and a quarter - just
[favorites list is ??]
rank by ROC(63)
then,
[favorites list is ??]
rank by ROC(21)
This will tell you which sectors are leading in each time frame. Then, if you want, you could make lists of the industry indices within each sector ($DJUSxx) and run the same scans on those. Then look for promising stocks in the leading industries. You could run the same scans again against the stocks in each industry - using the advanced scan page drop downs - maybe with limits on market cap and/or price.
