New Tabs

As I test run my scans this morning before the markets open, they are all creating a new tab for their results every single time that I run the same scan. I have closed out everything and restarted my computer and that didn't stop it. Do you know if they are doing some maintenance or has something changed?

I'd report that to StockCharts.com Support

The Results page also appears to be missing the option to SharpChart with Indicators
  • Thank you. I contacted them yesterday and again this morning because it's still doing the same thing. They rarely respond to me any longer so if you have any influence, I need the help please.

Some ideas - I'm not an expert in browsers but...

You could try clearing your browser's cache.

See if your browser has a setting for when to create new tabs, new windows, etc. It may have changed if you got an update to the browser - sometimes that happens behind the scenes, so you may not be aware of an update.

See what happens if you try a different browser - e.g. if you are using Edge, try Firefox, or vice versa, etc.

I have the same issue. They changed something in the software, by mistake, I believe.
  • I believe it's on their end but like you I am no computer expert at all. I hope that they get it back to the way it was soon. It makes it awfully cumbersome trying to run a a lot of scans like I used to do

Just FYI, on Chrome it doesn't appear to be doing the multiple tabs from running the same scan. Run the scan once, a new tab opens with the results. Run the scan again, it displays the results in that original tab

After updating Firefox and clearing cache, it is opening a new tab for each run of the scan.
  • Thank you. I have sent two requests in to SC so far.
  • FYI, still nothing from SC unless I missed it somehow and it's still doing the same thing. I may have to try your idea soon. I use these scans way too much to have to close out a tab every time that I want to test something
  • Check your spam folder.

My email provider asked me if my most recent answer from Support was spam.
  • I have checked that folder. It's still doing it today, so I am going to attempt to contact SC yet again. Wish me luck, lol

BAD NEWS!!! Windows update has moved Chrome over to the "New Tab for each Scan run" column. There is no safe place at the moment.
  • Man, I just found a response from SC. It was in my junk folder but it wasn't there the first time that I looked. azb, yes, too many tabs. I am constantly tinkering with new ideas so I might run several hundred scans in a day and now I will have several hundred separate tabs or pages. This just happened about a week ago
  • imkwin, I don't understand what you have told me. Does that also mean swithcing to Chrome will not solve the problem?

It means that Chrome now has the same problem with creating new tabs from running one scan in one tab. It used to create a results tab for that scan tab and it would update that results tab running that SAME scan from the other tab. Now, run that same scan 10 times, you get 10 tabs of results.
  • Ah, thank you. I have now checked thoroughly my junk file and SC has not responded and I have contacted three times now.
