CHG Column

Hi,
When reviewing sectors: What is the difference between CHG and % CHG?

See screen shot on attachment!

Many thanks,
Ray.

  • Chg is the absolute value of the change in value. Chg % is the % change in value.

    So a 101 value with a +1 change would be a 1% change
    100 + 1 CHG or 1/100 CHG %.

    A 51 value with a +1 change would be a 2% change
    50 + 1 CHG or 1/50 CHG %.
  • To put it another way:

    100 ...yesterday's close
    101 ... today's close

    101 - 100 = 1 ... CHG (today's close - yesterday's close)

    1/100 = .01 or 1% = %CHG (difference of closes divided by yesterday's close)
